"To myself who couldn't express her feelings, the writings of this book shall find you a way." She read. That was the only line on a white book with a poinsettia flower mark on the cover. It was her book. With "her" means not only as possession. She wrote it and it was hers. She held her book tight. As if it gave her courage.
After a few seconds, she released her tight hold of the book and placed it securely within her shoulder bag. Also white. She looked upon the sky, then raced towards the laboratory where she had made an appointment with the professor through phone call. New trainers around her age are expected to do an adventure. At least, that was what taught by her parents. She was old enough to do so. She didn't aim to be the best Pokemon trainer, the best coordinator, nor the best breeder.
All she wanted to have was a life. A change, that only this adventure could give. Or at least she thought so. She had a small smile on her lips. She had memorized the location of the laboratory so it should be okay... or at least she thought so. Until she noticed that she couldn't tell where she was right now.

You soon noticed that the sky had become over cast and it seemed like rain fall would be imminent. There wasn't any shelter around and you had no idea where the lab was you wondered if this day could get any worse. But just as you thought so the first drop of rain fell with many more to follow what would you do?

She jerked at the taste of the rain that fell to her cheeks. She panicked and quickly held her bag close. She didn't want her book to get wet at any cost. Although she panicked, words had quickly appeared into her head. Her hands itched to write those words popping in her mind, however, she was still in her sense that it was going to rain soon. And if she didn't find a shelter soon, she would be in a really big trouble.
She looked around for a shelter, yet find none of it. "Oh, no. This is the worse... I don't know which directions the lab is..." She muttered to herself as she ran straight on the path. They said if you're lost you just had to go straight. Albeit not knowing where the phrase came from. The rain fell harder as she ran. "...Rain - rain go away... come again another day!" She sang quietly as she ran, not even bother looking what lied in front of her. The rain was strong enough to keep her from opening her eyes.

You ran so fast until you bumped into something. As you look you realize what kind of building it was. it was the Lab you had found the lab running in a random direction from the rain. which continued to pour.

She was running fast that she couldn't believe she was doing that. She wasn't the athletic type of a person from the start. Perhaps it was her love for the book that she gave it her all escaping from the sudden rain. Although, that short-term strength she got caused her another misfortune. She could feel a rough wall on her face. It hurt her face a bit, especially her forehead for she was running while defending the book from the rain. Poor girl head-butted the wall straight with her head.
"...Oww...-wha?" She muttered before realizing the building she bumped into. It was pure luck. The lady luck has casted fortune upon her. She smiled at her. "...Thank you God!" She shouted happily as she quickly ran to the entrance. "Excuse me! Please let me in!" She shouted on the entrance as she barged in through the door. "Please excuse me. It was raining so hard outside, and... well, um..." She quieted down. Unable to continue the talk. It seemed like the sudden adrenaline rush had completely disappeared.

Professor Jen ran to the back of her lab and came back a few moments later with a towel. "Here dry yourself off before you catch a cold." The professor said while smiling at you.

She looked at the lady whom greeted her warmly. She seemed to be a nice person for she didn't kick her out, despite her being a stranger whom barged the lab suddenly. Well, one could expect such hospitality in such conditions, right?
The professor hurried back with a towel on her hand. She told her to dry herself with the towel. Thus she accepted the offer gladly. "T-thank you so much." She managed to spit out. It was only a few moments after running with all her might and courage. Yet, she had already lost everything. Including the courage to introduce herself.
Thank goodness, the professor was kind. That gave Elyse a breather. Somehow she didn't feel distant with the lady. It's as if she was talking to her own mother. "Thank you, Professor. My name is Elyse, nice to meet you." At the end of her sentence, she was surprised how she could talk so calmly. Although, she didn't expressed it. It must be the Professor's charisma that allowed her to do so.

"Its nice to meet you Elyse. I'm professor Jen, I'm just gonna say your here for your first pokemon?" The professor asked you. "I can't wait for my son to start his journey hes about 8 years old but hes very eager. oh there I go getting chatty again so your here for your first pokemon?"

At her question, she gave a confused face. She was sure she had already called the Professor that she would come, that she would claim her very first Pokemon. Her very first friend. Then again, there are many trainers coming here doing the same thing. So perhaps, the professor forgot about her call. After all, she had a dim shadow alright, and that affected calls as well. On the other hand, maybe the professor was only making sure about it. Whichever reason it was, she nodded at the question. Answering with a 'yes'.

(OOC: just letting you know Uran ask me to continue with your journey thing with you for now) So upon hearing this answer, Professor Jen turned and began to guide you towards the main section of the lad where - even from a distance - it was obvious to see that this was where the three start pokemon were kept ready for the new trainers. The three pokemon stood before you watching your every move with a look of interest and excitement upon their faces, knowing that today one of them would become your new partner. Shellder - Lvl 5 Ability: Sheel Armor Nature: Mild Gender: Male (don't worry, once evolved with be a dual water / ice type) Growlithe - Lvl 5 Ability: Intimidate Nature: Hardy Gender: Male Dratini - Lvl 5 Ability: Shed Skin Nature: Calm Gender: Female

She followed the Professor, and found herself three Pokemon which soon will be her partner. The first one, a gentle Shellder. Its shell was hard and strong. Definitely one for the defensive type. Sitting next to it was an agile and brave Growlithe. A strong pup aced in offensive attacks. The last one was a Dratini. The Pokemon thought to be extinct, once. This calm one has a different aura. It has a strong will power and somewhat magical.
"...Young one, which shall aide you in your journey?" She asked the question. But not to the Professor. The question was one asked to herself. As if already written in her book, she closed her eyes. She had a small smile on her lips. There were three powers shining before her. Even though her eyes were closed, she could feel the presence of the three.
"A Shield, A Sword, or A Staff?" She asked again. Then she opened her eyes. "Will you go with me?" She asked to the little red pup. It seemed like she had made her choice. 'I'm lone and with the sword shall I cut the thread of fate tied to my hand.' A voice echoed through her head.

The three young pokemon watching the young girl before them with just a hint of curiosity and wariness upon noting the conversation she were having with herself and asking herself questions which in turn received no answer.
Though upon seeing her attention to move to itself, the small Growlithe pup turned his eyes towards you before taking a step towards you, sniffing and whimpering kindly and softly while doing so.
