Lexi frowned at the boy. Who does this guy think he is?! She thought to herself, picking up the shinx. "Oh, Kiba may look cute now. You realise what Shinx evolve into right? Luxio. Then after that, they become the most badman looking thing ever; Luxray." She smirked. "Didn't think about that, did you hotshot?" Kiba appeared to be smiling with his owner, sharing the pride of her cockiness. "Sure. Lets battle!" Lexi said, triumphantly smiling.

"Hehe you'll still lose if we fight." He said as he began leading you outside however before you could leave the professor handed you a bag containing some supplies and a pokemon egg. She then showed you a thumbs up to say good luck before returning to her work.

Lexi took the bag and egg the professor gave her and nodded in the direction of the professor. She wondered what was actually inside the egg. Kiba was happilly making noises as they walked outside with the boy. Lexi started panicking.. 'Shinx is an electric type, and his is ground type.. does Kiba stand a chance?' she thought to herself. She glanced at the boys hippo pokemon. She sighed 'I guess if we loose, it will only make us more determined to get stronger, right?' she thought again. Then she suddenly had a sly thought.. "ok, so are we going to battle or what?" she smirked...

 Lv. 5 (OCC; Im not sure what I should put here, sorry!!) "Ok kiba, you ready?" Lexi smiled at her new friend. "Shi!!" It replied, before looking at the small hippo pokemon and snarling. "Then lets go!" She said confidently.. Although she felt a little insecure inside.. She didn't show it though! Now before the battle she had been thinking.. 'Kiba doesn't actually know any electricity moves yet.. perhaps tackle may work!' She extended a long dainty index finger and slowly began to speak... "Kiba, use your Tackle attack!" |

"Tackle go hippopotas!" Kiba was much faster than the hippopotas and quickly tackled him doing 4 damage. Hippopotas then countered with its own tackle which did 4 damage. Both pokemon stared down each other They were evenly matched. 'Hmm... Sand attack eh?' Lexi thought to herself quickly. This put her at a 50/50 change of winning.. if it hit Kiba and Kiba still managed to hit the opponent, it would put Kiba in the lead.. But if Kiba missed.. It could mean we loose our first battle.
"Kiba, I want you to try dodging, and then attacking it with tackle!" She knew Kiba might not be able to do the dodge, but it was worth a try.. right?
